Availability will be a key factor in casting. You will be asked to provide all conflicts on your audition form to be filled out at auditions. Video submissions will NOT be accepted, in-person auditions only. Those auditioning ONLY for Karnak should still arrive at 7pm, but will not be asked to participate in the singing or movement portions of the audition. However, The Young Singer of the Year, who took the trophy, was Abi, who really impressed Evert with her vocal range and control. Grace was awarded Highly Commended for Lower School and Sienna was awarded Highly commended for Upper School. He had an incredibly difficult decision to make as the standard of performances was unbelievable. Once the performances were over, Evert was ready to present the awards. Whilst our judge made his decisions, Liv and Evangeline entertained the audience with a stunning performance of ‘You Love Who You Love’, followed by Upper School Choir who performed ‘You’ve Got A Friend’ and finally Lower School Choir who had the audience clapping along to ‘True Colours’.

Zachary then expressively sang ‘A Million Dreams’ and Sienna finished off the competition with a powerfully fierce performance of ‘No One But You’ Luci charismatically performed ‘Kindergarten Boyfriend’, followed by Emilia who sang ‘What I Did For Love’ in dulcet tones. Grace gave us an evocative and dramatic performance of ‘Get Out and Stay Out’ and Ella then gave a dynamic performance of ‘Don’t Lose Your Head’ with backing singers Liv and Evangeline. Next was Robyn who gave a captivating performance of ‘Vampire’, and then Abi who enchanted us with her resonant performance of ‘The Ballad of Jane Doe’. Then it was Taylor’s turn to sing ‘Set Fire To The Rain’, which she sang spectacularly. Nathan then gave us an energetic performance of ‘Believer’ by Imagine Dragons, followed by Lily who soulfully sang ‘Almost There’ and then Naya with an engaging performance of ‘No Apologies’. We were then blown away by the powerful vocals of Genny, who sang ‘Mama Who Bore Me’ from Spring Awakening. With Liv and Evangeline as compares for the evening and our judge Evert Outen in position, Sadie started the night off by singing a beautiful rendition of ‘Skyfall’ by Adele. There were 14 finalists from Years 7-11 who had already made it through the audition process. On Thursday 7th December we hosted our first ever Winston Young Singer of the Year competition in the Performance Space.
